Celebrating 3 Years of Wedded Bliss!

This week JC and I celebrated our three year wedding anniversary. Anniversaries always make me a little nostalgic, thinking back to what was a wonderful day.

Saturday, September 26, 2009 -- JC was extremely stressed out on our wedding day. Of course he was feeling the normal stress of a groom, but he was also trying to predict and track potentially rainy weather. This was a real concern for him, and everyone else involved in the wedding because our ceremony was set to take place outside on a golf course.

Despite a very rainy few hours, things turned out well, the rain ended up stopping about an hour before the ceremony. Clouds still dotted the sky during the majority of the ceremony, but as soon as we were pronounced man and wife the clouds parted and the sun came out. It was really an “aww” moment -- and one that made our ceremony even more memorable for us and our friends and family.

For anyone about to enter the world of wedded bliss here are a few words of wisdom:
1.) Have great, supportive people in your wedding party. Brides, you know you’ve got great bridesmaids when they enter the bathroom stall with you. Grooms, you know you’ve got great groomsmen when they wait until after the wedding to drink.

2.) Limit the number of drinks people who are giving speeches have. It can end in some unsavory words being thrown into the speech.

3.) For those having a wedding or reception outdoors, have a personal weatherman on hand. He or she WILL be able to produce the weather you are requesting. :) If you have a weatherman as a groom and three other “weather people” in attendance, you are sure to get an “aww” inspiring weather moment.

4.) Have something on hand to keep the bridal party entertained. For us it was golf carts!

5.) Don’t forget to enjoy the moment. Your special day goes by so quickly and before you know it you are celebrating your 3 year wedding anniversary!
